Frequently asked questions
Is the document uploaded?
Nothing is uploaded. The file is read into memory by the page and processed by your own browser, and the site’s Content Security Policy blocks outbound connections entirely — so it cannot send your file anywhere even if it tried.
Can the watermark be removed?
Not easily, but do not treat it as security. The text is drawn into each page rather than added as an annotation a reader can toggle off — however anyone determined enough can edit a PDF. A watermark marks intent; it does not enforce it.
Will it cover the text underneath?
Only as much as you choose. Opacity defaults to 25 per cent, which reads clearly while leaving the page legible. Turn it down for a lighter mark or up for an unmissable one.
